Serving with a vision to eradicate blindness from society, Amritsar Eye Clinic organized a free eye checkup camp with the support of Shri Dwarka Dutt Sharma Charitable Trust Dehradun and Vishnu Bhawan Trust, Haridwar at Nirajani Akhada Road, Haridwar on 03/11/2019. The camp was specially organized for people from the economically weaker sections of the society. A team of doctors examined more than 300 patients at the venue. Many of them found to have cataract, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and other eye diseases. They were provided free advice and consultation for their condition, and also necessary medicines. More than 90 patients have been operated free of cost at the hospital and provided free glasses after surgery.

Amritsar Eye Clinic organized Free Eye Checkup Camp at Himjyoti School Sahastradhara Dehradun 29/08/2019. More than 125 underprivileged students have been screened and provided free specialized advise for their diseases.

Glaucoma is a condition of the eye in which the pressure inside it increases beyond a level, such that it starts damaging the optic nerve. It is the commonest cause of irreversible blindness worldwide. Often it is diagnosed in the late stages, and is correctly termed “The silent thief of sight.”

This year Glaucoma week was observed during 10^th to 16^th March 2019. Amritsar Eye Clinic & Gyani Inder Institute together organized awareness walk.
