Celebrating World Sight Day-2016

Approximately 285 million people worldwide live with low vision & blindness. This World Sight Day, let’s pledge to make people around us aware about blindness & vision impairment.

On this global day, we have tried to aware people by giving them pamphlets mentioning some healthy tips for their eyes; moreover a press release was also published in some of the local news papers with the same motive of awareness.

Free Eye Check Up Camp at Times Square Mall

In association with Bajaj Capital, A Free Eye check up camp was conducted at Times square mall, Dehradun. This camp was open for all the employees  as well as for the walk-in. Around 150 people took advantage of this social activity, out of which few were diagnosed with Cataract and some other eye problems. Needful were referred to the hospital for more investigation.

Launch of a New Generation IOL

A next generation Preloaded Hydrophobic IOL – Vivinex, by HOYA Surgical Optics was officially launched at Amritsar Eye Clinic on 29/08/2016. This IOL Technology has been brought for the first time in the state of Uttarakhand by Amritsar Eye Clinic.

Important features of this new IOL (Intra-ocular lens) are:

  • New Material- Next generation Hydrophobic acrylic IOl with posterior surface treatment to reduce PCO.
  • New Design- Texture finish with new sharp edge, almost eliminate dysphotopsia and ensure smooth and faster opening of IOLs
  • New delivery System-3rd Generation Preloaded isert with ergonomic design for predictable delivery.

A press conference was also organized at hospital premises, where after the brief introduction about the launch from the doctors of Amritsar eye clinic, a Q&A session was also conducted where reporters put forth their queries.
